Mike Barry

Chief Executive Officer

Mike Barry brings more than 30 years of executive and technology leadership experience to Optanix, where he spearheads the strategy for the company and our industry-leading IT operations management software.

Prior to joining Optanix, Mike was an Operating Partner at Francisco Partners, a leading technology-focused private equity firm.  Before that, he served as Executive Vice President of R&D and Product Management at Aderant, a global provider of comprehensive business management software for legal and other professional services firms. Mike was instrumental in leading Aderant over nine years and through three successful ownership transactions, including its sale to Roper Technologies.  Prior to Aderant, Mike held leadership positions at EFI, TR Systems and Datapoint Corporation.

Mike holds over 25 patents, is a published author and has been a featured speaker at events around the globe.

Evan Lorch

Chief Financial Officer

Evan Lorch oversees Optanix’s finance and accounting teams. He has nearly 20 years of executive leadership experience, with an impressive track record and a reputation for financial acumen. As a hands-on CFO, he has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital and debt financing, and offshoring. Evan has been the CFO of numerous startups and private equity backed companies in industry verticals including financial technology, software and financial services.

Before joining Optanix, Evan held Chief Financial roles at B2R Finance, CoreOne Technologies and BIDS Trading. He also served as an operational consultant for Marlin Equity Partners where he helped build the global finance organization for one of its portfolio companies.

Prior to starting his career at PwC, Evan attained a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from Cornell University.

Wasif Awan

Senior Vice President of Engineering and Development

Wasif Awan is responsible for guiding and driving software engineering and development strategies, initiatives, projects and resources surrounding the Optanix Platform. He has more than 20 years of experience delivering software and related services in high-tech industries.

Previously, Wasif served as the global head of engineering at Intralinks, where he led the design and delivery of the company’s SaaS platform. While at Intralinks, Wasif migrated a global engineering organization of over 250 engineers to an Agile based development process with integrated global teams, resulting in a 25% productivity increase and cycle times twice as fast as the industry average. Prior to Intralinks, Wasif served as Vice President of Engineering at Sereniti and Managing Partner of K2 Software Group.

Wasif holds several patents in the area of Secure Document Collaboration and Distribution. He also holds a BS in Computer Science from Arizona State University and an MS in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Judith Brown

Vice President of Human Resources

Judith Brown has been instrumental in guiding Optanix’s human resource policies and processes during a period of unprecedented growth. She has transformed our HR team, turning it into a strategic asset that puts employee needs and aspirations at the forefront, driving our continued success. Prior to her role at Optanix, Judith worked for nine years at ShoreGroup, where she rose to become their Vice President of Human Resources. Before this, Judith headed up human resources at A.K. Stamping, Inc., and previously held increasingly senior HR positions at Prudential Insurance and the International Bauxite Association.

Judith holds a Master of Science degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and is also an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management.

Jim Firenze

Vice President of Operations

Jim Firenze spearheads the delivery of Optanix’s industry leading managed services and management platform. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in IT technical support delivery and customer service. His extensive operations background has been gleaned from running large technical service organizations that support major data center, network, VoIP and contact center environments for customers. Jim is instrumental in ensuring that the Optanix technical support organization is strategically aligned with our service offerings and that our high customer satisfaction is maintained. He also directed Optanix’s achievement of ISO 27001 certification to validate that we have the technical support process and technology in place to securely monitor and manage customer environments.  Jim is Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certified and a Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert (CHPSE).
 
Prior to Optanix, Jim was Vice President of Managed Services at ShoreGroup.  In that capacity, he was integral in growing ShoreGroup’s customer base and business by building and managing a proactive, world-class support organization that achieved unparalleled levels of customer satisfaction and managed service renewals.  Before joining ShoreGroup, Jim held key management positions at IBM, Telergy and TMS.

Scott Kimmelman

Executive Vice President of Business Development

Throughout his 30 year career, Scott Kimmelman has consistently identified and developed high-value business and technology opportunities in the contact center, systems automation and advanced voice technologies sectors. Prior to his role at Optanix, Scott cofounded ShoreGroup in 2000, where he was instrumental in establishing strategic relationships with Cisco Systems and other global partners. He has held senior sales and national account manager positions at companies including Tel Plus Communications, Siemens-IBM (ROLM) and NEC Business Network Solutions. While at NEC, Scott was responsible for service provider management, and secured and managed a $65 million contract with a major New York agency for the design, implementation and support of Cisco VoIP and NEC PBX/ACD systems.

Bob McDermott

Senior Vice President

Bob McDermott leads Optanix’s Channel Sales Operations team. He has over 25 years of leadership experience delivering transformational solutions in the Managed Services, communications and convergence sectors.  He is an expert in building and maintaining strategic relationships.  In this role, he responsible for maximizing partner and customer satisfaction and collaboration while orchestrating sales growth and profitability.

Prior to his role at Optanix, Bob was a Senior Vice President at ShoreGroup, where he built a highly successful contact center practice, leading its sales and operations teams. Bob has also held operational management and technology positions at Prudential Financial, Merrill Lynch, MetLife and Prudential Securities.

Bob holds a MBA in Finance and Certificate in International Business from Seton Hall University, and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from King’s College, in Pennsylvania. 
Melissa Puls Chief Marketing Officer at Optanix

Melissa Puls

Chief Marketing Officer

Melissa Puls leads the marketing strategy that drives global revenue growth for Optanix. She has more than 20 years of marketing leadership experience, and expertise in corporate marketing, demand generation, content marketing, digital marketing and marketing operations.

Before Optanix, Melissa served as CMO at Progress where she was responsible for the successful launch of its new brand and generating leads that converted to $30M in new bookings annually. Prior to Progress Melissa was vice president of marketing at Iron Mountain, the largest global information storage company. Before Iron Mountain Melissa rose up through the ranks to become vice president of marketing at Infor, the third-largest ERP software company. She also held marketing roles at Infinium Software (later SSA Global) and Kronos, Inc.

Melissa holds a B.A. in Communications and Psychology from Franklin Pierce University.

Kelly Ronan

Senior Vice President of Product Management

Kelly Ronan heads up Optanix’s Product Management Group, where he is responsible for driving product strategy, delivering product value and achieving business outcomes. He is a results-driven professional with more than 20 years of experience in product management, enterprise systems management solutions, IT architecture, project and program management, solution strategy and support operations. Prior to his role at Optanix, Kelly joined ShoreGroup in 2000, where he rose to become Senior Vice President of their Advanced Technology Group.

Previously, Kelly held leadership and technical roles at NEC and National Grid, where he led the planning, design and implementation of many computing and communication applications. Kelly began his career in an engineering role at the Department of Defense National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (formerly Defense Mapping Agency).

Kelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in geography and a Master’s degree in Planning/Information Systems from the University at Albany.
